• The Academy closes to students at 12.30 pm on Friday 17th December and reopens on Wednesday 5th January 2022. Wishing all of our students and their families a lovely festive holiday.

The transition from primary to secondary school can be difficult but at Haywood Academy we are with you each step of the way. As a member of a co-operative society, we are actively involved in the local community, working in conjunction for the benefit of all concerned.

This includes partnership with parents whom we encourage regular involvement in their child’s education and the freedom to contact us to discuss any issues that may have arisen. Communication is a two way process and for our part, we produce newsletters for parents and students, scheduled parents meetings and the chance to meet with their child’s tutor during the first half term at school.

This section contains useful information about all aspects related to your child’s education including the uniform, school meals and menus, term dates, school activities, admissions and attendance. If you’d like to read information relating to Ofsted, please click here.

We have established strong links with further and higher education institutions including Stoke on Trent College, Keele, Staffordshire, Oxford and Cambridge universities. These institutions value creative, independent thinkers with a strong work ethic and the desire to succeed.

“Our experience would lead us to say that Haywood Academy is an exceptional school that we trust. Our children have been happy at Haywood and the staff have shown commitment and dedication to them in both their personal and educational development.” – Susan, Year 11 parent
