Drama Careers

Within our lessons, we use Drama to explore various topics linking to PSHE that excite and engage our students. In KS3 we look at developing our knowledge and understanding of Drama techniques, such as freeze frames and thought tracks and how we can develop our confidence to be able to perform in front of the class. Some of the scripts we love to perform include Hairspray, Shrek and Matilda!

In KS4, we begin to explore how different acting styles differ and the work of theatre practitioners. Not only do we look into the role of an actor and director, you will also get the chance to work as a costume designer and make-up artist!

We love giving our students the opportunity to be involved in after school clubs, where we work towards putting on performances that will be performed on stage.

There are also plenty of opportunities to visit the theatre and watch the actors live. Our favourite trip is when we go down to London and we’re able to watch shows In the West-End and take part in acting workshops!
