Community

Haywood Academy in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent provides a calm, disciplined and organised learning environment that enables our students to aim high and achieve.

With an excellent range of facilities that support them during their time at the school, providing a sense of security combined with inclusivity.

As a community college, we believe in challenging our students through a wide range of activities but always with safeguards in place. Students are encouraged to develop themselves in these enrichment events, acquiring the skills and confidence needed in today’s competitive world.

Our school has undergone a £9 million refurbishment, resulting in a building with a light and airy atmosphere and open spaces that are conducive to learning. With outstanding facilities that include a state of the art Community Learning Centre, public library, fitness centre, science laboratories and ultra-modern dance and art studios.

These facilities are open to the public and recreational groups as part of our connection with the local community. Furthermore, we have established primary links with junior schools, helping children to make a smooth transition from primary to secondary school.

The local community shows its support for the school via a free, easy fundraising service that allows them to generate a cashback donation each time they make an online purchase. This easy to use system benefits both the students and their parents.
